“The soldier is the army. No army is better than its soldier. The soldier is also a citizen. In fact, the highest obligation and privilege of citizenship is that of bearing arms for one's country”
-George S Patton

Indian army has 13 lakh Troops under its ranks and about 36000 officers and is worlds 3rd most powerful army in the world. Our army has continuously proved its mettle by winning 4 wars against Pakistan and has also actively participated in UN peacekeeping missions in the world. The price for those victories was paid by those who fought valiantly, without any thought of their personal safety, with cold courage, victories are to those who laid themselves down for the sake of tricolour to stay high, they returned to their home wrapped in tricolour & became immortal, dying a heroes death. This is how they have earned the status and position of respect in society.

All of us have our own opinion about what is ‘social status’. However, it is undisputed that the status of a "warrior" has stood the test of time by their supreme sacrifices. history and society both have held soldier in esteem & offered him unique status in society by joining the army, one becomes a member of the exclusive elite brotherhood. Life at forces not just fighting at the borders, as it is thought by many, the army has got 42 different arms which are divided into combat, combat support and logistics branch. Combat arms are those which takes part in the fights, skirmishes, wars leading from the front and facing the enemies first hand these are the bravehearts which people hear stories about. They consist of the infantry, armoured corps, mechanized infantry.
Combat support arms are those which do not directly participate into combat with the enemy on the ground but helps the combat arms gaining superiority, like artillery which consists of howitzers guns and field guns that help in shelling through the battle also the missiles of Indian army,Those are used by artillery to support combat arms. Also, signals corps ensures the communication is established between the battlefield and the command for better knowing the conditions of war and planning tactics. Engineers is also a corps in the army which helps army for construction of bridges in inhospitable terrains, maintenance of the tanks and other weapons, securing the way for our troops by clearing a minefield.
All of this is the variety of work one can do joining the army………
This offers an opportunity to you, to be the part of one of the most elite organizations, the life that forces offers, cannot be compared to any other opportunity as this is not a job, but a ‘way of living’ which comes with intangible aspects and values like honour, respect, glory, discipline, punctuality and a sense to have stood for something.
Just ask one question to yourselves?
What are you studying for? To get a job or for a career? Work hard to fulfil someone else’s dream or putting the peak of your life and energy serving the nation, commanding your men, and gaining the respect of fellow countrymen..
In Army, the qualities of leadership, brotherhood, guts to face all odds, the feeling for all for one and one for all is developed, these helps one in each and every aspect of life, such is the prestige of joining the forces.
What does it require to be one of them?
As field marshal Sam Manekshaw answers it
“The primary and cardinal attribute for leadership is professional knowledge and professional competence. Professional knowledge has to be acquired hard way. it is continuous study, that you will never acquire in today's fast-moving world that you are living in, you have to keep your profession whatever you are"

Think big and aim high, you will achieve what you aim, hard work will get you wherever you wish to go, and remember there is a God who keeps account of all your doings and activities, some of us also believe in luck, but remember luck favours those who work hard and have faith in god. Make the best ofthe 24 hours you have got for the time will not stretch nor the lost time ever come back to you.

.                    service before self

                           JAI HIND!!!!!
